Alabama Gives Day - Bravo and Thank You!

In a 24 hour period, we received 8 donations, totaling $565. It is because of the passion and dedication you have for improving EDUCATION, FINANCIAL STABILITY, HEALTH and BASIC NEEDS that we are able to have a profound impact on the lives of others. Together we can profoundly change the lives of children and young people, struggling families, frail seniors and those with disabilities in our community – helping them to achieve more than they ever thought possible.

Can-A-Thon

Fighting hunger in our own backyard 2011_CanAThon_TDC.jpg

A big thank you to everyone who made this year's Can-A-Thon a success.  Hundreds turned out to donate food by the bag full and truck load.  At the end of Can-A-Thon, a total of 25,825 cans and non-perishable items had been collected.  The value of the food drive is estimated at more than $21,192.  All food collected during the December 8 Can-A-thon event will feed needy families and individuals in Marshall County Through the Salvation Army, Marshall County Christian Services, Meals on Wheels, and other United Way funded agencies.

Special thanks goes out to the Guntersville Walmart for providing refreshments throughout the day, The Circle for providing entertainment, and many United Way partner agencies for volunteering their time.

Holiday Can-A-Thon represents more than the collection and distribution of something nourishing. It represents something that's impossible to can, bottle or package – the gift of helping others.
