Alabama Gives Day - Bravo and Thank You!

In a 24 hour period, we received 8 donations, totaling $565. It is because of the passion and dedication you have for improving EDUCATION, FINANCIAL STABILITY, HEALTH and BASIC NEEDS that we are able to have a profound impact on the lives of others. Together we can profoundly change the lives of children and young people, struggling families, frail seniors and those with disabilities in our community – helping them to achieve more than they ever thought possible.

Our Work

Advancing the Common Good:
Creating opportunities for a better life for all

Everyone deserves opportunities to have a good life: a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health.

That's why United Way's work is focused on the building blocks for a good life:

Education – Helping Children and Youth Achieve Their Potential

Income – Promoting Financial Stability and Independence

Health – Improving Peoples' Health

Basic Needs – Access to basic needs services through 2-1-1

We believe these are the four building blocks to a good life and make a difference in strengthening families and community, helping kids succeed, promoting independence and health, and meeting basic needs. Advancing the common good is less about helping one person at a time and more about changing systems to help all of us. We are all connected and interdependent. We all win when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable, when people are health, and when people know where to turn for resources and supportive services.

United Way's goal is to create long-lasting changes by addressing the underling causes of these problems. LIVING UNITED means being part of the change. It takes everyone in the community working to create a brighter future.

GIVE. ADVOCATE. VOLUNTEER. LIVE UNITED.
